Southfield was established over 150 years ago for the provision of veterinary services to farm animals. Today the centre offers a combination of traditional values with modern techniques and expertise.

Opening hours

Our doors are open between the following times:

Weekdays: 8.00am to 7.00pm
Saturday: 8.00am to 1.00pm
Sunday: 9.00am to 1.00pm

Consulting times:

Monday-Friday: 9.00am-12.30pm, 2.00pm-6.30pm
Saturday: 9.00am-10.30am
Sunday: Emergencies by appointment

Please note that all consultations are by appointment only. Please phone or pop in to arrange with the receptionist which vet you would like to see and which pet you are bringing and they will be happy to arrange a suitable time for you.

Emergencies

If your pet is involved in an accident or requires immediate attention, please call the surgery to let us know you are on your way. This will enable us to ensure we have staff and equipment ready for you on arrival. We operate a 24 hour emergency service: out of hours your call will be answered and a member of the veterinary team will get back to you as soon as possible to make arrangements to see you at the practice if this is considered necessary.

House calls

We are able to make house calls if requested. However, we would like to make you aware that if seen at the practice we have better resources to hand with which to make a full examination and administer treatment to your animal.

Advice

While we are happy to give telephone advice it is always preferable for us to see your pet. Different conditions often share similar signs and without a full clinical examination it can be hard to distinguish between them.

Fees

We do not have small animal accounts and so we politely ask that payment is made at the time of treatment. This can be made by cash, debit or credit card. If you have experiencing difficulties paying an unexpected large amount, please speak to the vet with whom you are dealing with as we may be able to make alternative arrangements to settle the outstanding amount.
